Fish Identification Help

It's so black or at least appears that way. Jags and freddies are the only parachromis I've had with that kind of black. The body conformation looks like a male mota though.

He's definitely got a good amount of brown on him, he's had a lot of brown since he was only a few inches though. The only time I can recall him not having a lot of brown was a few years ago when I had him in a tank with white rocks, and held a mirror to the glass. He lit up with yellows and blues, and was very light colored opposed to brown. When he was younger he used to look very similar to the la ceiba variant of freddys, although he hasn't resembled one in quite some time.

Edit: If you google "la ceiba cichlid" most of what the males look like are what my fish resembled 100% a few years ago. Is it possible his colors have just faded over the years due to poor treatment? The fact that he used to resemble the la ceiba variant makes me think there's no way he's part dovii or part jag.

I think MotanaguensisXDovii looks very possible......i'm not seeing the Jag if there is any in him


WHERE are you guys seeing any Jaguar in this fish??
