Fish keeping and fishing

There are pets, and then there are food. Sometimes, food becomes pet, then its can no longer ever become food.

Even in primitive cultures, such as those in the Amazon, they will at times adopt an offspring of a killed prey. Then it becomes a pet and consider a taboo to ever slaughter it for food.

I like this thread. Fishing got me interested in fish, and it never stopped after that. Some day I want to have a massive native tank because of this. So then in that aspect, my fish would be both my pet and food? Never thought about it but I enjoy both. I keep only what i need to have one decent fish fry with the whole family once a year. Gives me about my fill of catfish for the year lol.

My dad bred fish when I was a kid. We went fishing all the time. There was always a differentiation. They were always two very different things and I never related the two. Or put two and two together, if that makes sense

I dunno...I do both. I only catch and release though since I'm not a fish fan in the sense of the taste lol.
