You need to get on YouTube and look up fish tanks, look at all the types of fish to get, take a few days or weeks to decide on the ones you want. I did this and came to the conclusion I wanted South/Central/Madagascar cichlids.

sometimes it isnt the fish, do a totally new aquascape, change everything, maybe ur tank will have new appeal
It's also really enjoyable raising a tiny little fish into a big guy. I'm really enjoying the chocolate cichlid I'm raising up now. They just grow so fast, so that keeps me interested.

x2 i'm constantly messing around with my aquascape.. once I finish, i think, hm i need to change this and that and it goes on forever lol kind of weird, but it's the fun part.. if I finish my aquarium and im down to just feeding and WCs, it's no fun anymore.
OP, have you considered pundamilia nyererei. beautiful cichlids, has several different phenotypes under this name, pick the colors to your liking
