I was going to mention the fish egg thing, myself. Also, sometimes people don't/can't keep their fish and they spy a pond or water feature and deposit them there.

I think we can established that the fact is that bullheads are most likely came in as fingerlings mixed with stocked fish. It's quite much common with stocked ponds. Not fish eggs carried by birds.
Dead catfish with a stick in it's mouth, brings back memories. When I was a kid I went fishing and the kid I was with caught a catfish, and he decided it would be cool to put in a hated neighbors mailbox. I told him he was an idiot and I would have nothing to do with it. He did it anyway. What a moron.

i remember fishing a couple weeks ago, i caught a bullhead, then realeased it. Right away it bit a dead stalk of some plant and got stuck. It couldn't dive down and kept floating becuz the stalk was too buoyant. of course i removed it, but yeah fish can do stupid things. probably made itself easier prey and/or starved itself.
