Can you bring fish on a plane? I'm going to be visiting an area that has a better selection and better prices than I'm used to and I may be tempted. Think I could count a box of fish as my carry on?

I don't think u can carry it inside a plane through your carry on and besides isn't it there's just a very small allowable amount of liquid u can take with you for security reasons.

only 3.5 ounce bottles of cologne, medicine, etc. are allowed on carryon. And, the bottles have to be in zip lock bags.

Live animals (dogs/cats) require carry cases and vet certificates to be considered for permission to ride in the passenger cabin.

Just ship it from one airport to another, and pick it up when you get there.

*don't try this from the passenger terminal. This must be done at one of the freight offices bordering the airport.

Takes away some of the allure. I thought living animals inside a liquid might bypass that rule but I guess not. If I'm going through the freight office I might as well just have fish shipped in.

That will be more convinient for u and less stressfull.

No guarantees with living creatures. If you pack 'em right in styro, drop them off on your way to your flight, and pick them up upon landing...you should be OK.
Preplan the shipping. Freight flight schedules are available at the freight carrier's offices and online. Find flights that coincide with your passenger flight arrival so you can pick up the fish as you head home. (*note: it averages an hour from landing to turnover at most freight operations)

Some airlines allow you to check them in. You'd need to call your airline and see though. I know that Southwest doesn't.
