I bought over 75 aquariums and more than 2,000 fish through internet sales. There isn't a pet shop within 2 1/2 hours of where I live and the one's that are 2 1/2 hours one-way driving distance cater to the bread & butter fish keepers. If it weren't for internet sales, all my tanks would contain MS natives instead of the oddballs I prefer.

Hmmm Business idea

Why not set up your own LFS if you can get the cash together why not give it ago !!!

I don't think Oddball's got the time.

Just be cautious when buying through aquabid. I've been burned a couple of times, but for the most part it's been a good experience. I have hundreds of fish and all but a handful were bought on line. If you buy in large quantity, or rare/expensive fish, then the shipping costs aren't much of an issue.

I've had no problems with buying fish on line. Thats where i got my peacock bass, Just make sure to get next day shpping, and make sure they have a DOA gaurantee, cause my first pbass died in the mail, so they sent me new ones for no charge.

Also i've ordered fish of www.petsolutions.com and they came in real healthy!!!

I have most my fish online bc i am stationed out in the desert. Some good sites are pet solutions, that fish place and ****************. they got your basic fish. Every once in a while they get some cool stuff in. But shiping can be a u know what when you buy

Why aquabid and ebay when we have our own sellers here right in the buy and sell forum ? These guys deliver the goods at a lower price than retail and if you can find them there.

it all depends on how sensitive the fish you want to ship are and how long it will take. i have bought fish from Jeff Rapps at Tangled up in Cichlids and have had no problems ever and thats from jersey to San Diego. i just got a shipment in yesterday that got sent out thursday night. the package got stuck in Louisville Ky and it took me 48hrs to get the fish. all 8 of the fish i ordered came in looking tired and cold but otherwise healthy. as long as you are getting fish from a reputable person with proper packing technique then you shouldnt have a problem
