absolutely get a refund, and have them pay for the shipping as well. Also let us know who this is amicably so we can be cautious of purchases with the vendor.

This is not a registered MFK vendor. But I've had great experiences in the past. I've received my share of DOA in the past, understand and accept all the risks. I understand all the policies before I purchase. It's like going out to eat, you expect to not get sick, there is always that risk, but it still sucks when it happens.

I just expected, (maybe unreasonably) that they hand select individual fish the meet the sales size description and are healthy enough to survive the overnight trip. This good customer service! Maybe I won't be buying online anymore. But, I've read enough vendor bashing in this forum, I won't do that as it's never productive and just ugly. Thx.

I wouldn't bash, but give an honest review

This. Any vendor should know if a fish is clearly at risk to ship. I've had vendors tell me they aren't shipping fish due to the size being wrong or the fish itself either being too weak or young to ship. I respect the not wanting to bash anyone however.

I agree with losing out on the shipping only if its not the vendors direct fault.

In this case I would insist a full refund including shipping for the simply fact that the fish was undersized and sick. Its not what you paid for.

Its like ordering a pepperoni pizza and having it delivered, only to find its a Hawaiian and you send it back. but they still charge you delivery... no one would stand for that would they.

TBH after years in the game, I take listed sizes as mere suggestions. I've had 3.5" fish show up barely cresting an inch and the opposite as well. Just take it in stride. If the fish bounce back and do well for you, just take it as a lesson learned.

Thx shook, and for all the advice you've given me in the past with my plecos.
--Received an email from them, will only get credit for next purchase but I didn't ask for more. They admitted a mistake in not providing a fish of advertised size, but also blamed possible mishandling by the delivery service, potentially a "rough" trip for the fatality. Doesn't make sense since the other larger siblings survived and are currently gorging themselves with red wigglers in my growout. Lesson learned, will use my credit and decide from there if I'll ever purchase from them again. This thread is done. Thx, all!
