Fish Pimple?

Hi everyone,


I need a little help. I purchased a Channa Asiatica yesterday for cheap. As i was rearranging the tank today i noticed that he it had an pimple looking thing on his chin. There are two on either side circle in red and one on his nearer his belly. The one nearer his belly looks like its under the skin. They are kinda orangy brown coloured. Anyone have any idea? I wanna add salt but i've had mixed results with snakeheads and salt before

I can't tell from the picture, is there anything sticking out of the marks (anchor worm)They look a bit like the marks left by fish lice (argulus) which often leave a discolored bruise. Check for external parasites, if you don't see any just wait to see if the marks stasrt to heal. here are pics of argulus, they are often almost transparent. The koi show marks from an argulus feeding.

thanks again guppy. But i'm pretty sure they're not fish lice. I've had a fish whose had lice before and didn't leave markings like that. I'll have to wait a few days and see. I dunno if i should lightly salt the tank? ANy suggestions
 
I don't know how sensitive snakeheads are to salt. You could try melafix.
 
thanks again guppy... The first night i got him i was rearraning my room to accomidate for a new tank stand i got. So the first night he was in a 50 with a red snakehead but they were seperated. All night i heard him jumping so i think its prolly an injury from that.. Will go get some melafix today.. Thanks again
 
melafix wouldnt hurt :grinno:
I've used it for several cosmetic abrasions on a lot of fish and it seems to work well
