Great idea, if only it was possible. As far as I know, Aust has one of the worlds strictest quarantine laws, ie if it was legal to import the fish in the first place. Also, as I mentioned, while it might be legal to own some species of fish (well, no one says anything anyway-even some of the lfs display some that are not meant to be imported), it is actually illegal to import them. Go figure.

Nice to dream though. Isn't it funny how you always lust after what is hard to get? E.g. from reading these forums, it seems leichardtis are quite valuable over there compared to silvers, and yet over here it is the complete opposite?
 
Somebody is going to jail, heheh, man, I wouldn't risk it, they are seriously hardnosed about illegals down there.
 
Well, i live in nsw, and even the saratoga is $90 for a small one. AUL $800, Bichir $600, And as far as silver aros i was talking to him and he said that there illegal to import into australia but u can buy from australian breeders but to find one is once in a blue moon. Australia sucks for buying fish -.-
 
I can't beleive bichirs are that much. I just bought mine about a month ago at petsmart(4 incher) for less than 10 bucks.
 
I really want a bichir, just all the cool fish i want, but i cant have, becus there too expensive which really sucks. i just found a place that sell 50 fingerlings of saratogas for 1.60 each too bad i dont want 50 xD
