Fish related jobs?

I hoped for the same thing, realized after a semester as a marine biology major that marine biology was completely a labor of love, and earning a living would be very difficult, reliant on grants, etc. So now I do real estate and spend the money I make on fish.

Something to be said for chasing your dreams though. I worked at an aquarium store in high school that I know for a fact is very profitable. This was because It was better than the other stores in the area, and the owner was incredibly passionate about the store and fish in general. And they have expanded into commercial aquarium maintenance. So, if it's really what you love, something like that would be do-able.

Shrimp boat deckhand.
Professional Bass Fisherman
Deep sea diver
Waste water treatment.
Big headed carp trapper.
Fish bait dealer.
Alaskan salmon boat crew.
Trotline runner.
Clam digger.
Import fish dealer.
Welder, build tank stands. Pays the best.

With out collage list. If I only had the twin 250 hp outboards , instead of the 9.9 hp I might have made something of myself.

Another topic, if you could follow a 20 year plan :)

I'm a chemical engineer, and have spent the 12 years at a big company doing chemical process design - filtration / pumps / piping / etc. It's well paying, but also reasonably high stress. What my dream (delusion?) is, is that ~10 years from now I can find a large scale aquaponics facility, and use that chemical engineering skillset as the engineer for that. I'm assuming I'd take a large pay cut, but if its low stress and less hours who cares, it'd be like a mini retirement.
