well,

stain is messy... my tape job didn’t matter....

2 - 3 coats of stain/sealant and 2 coats polyurethane....

time consuming... i see why buddy charges me what he does to stain my wood panels... it’s a PITA...

moving on - just gotta trim it out, got some dow corning 995? some structural caulk...

gonna fill a few voids...

got 4 air pumps coming, 2 heaters, 6 sponge filters...

thinking a 125g (hopefully can get it in) and a 50g breeder for the second level... prolly put my 40’s up top... with maybe a 55g...

see where it takes me...

bare bottom everywhere no “show” action...

got 2 tanks up and running for now.....

i’ve not found a rack i’ve been happy with.... maybe because i built it....

the 16” high 40g is taller than i like... banging head on ceiling messing with it.... we’ll see

screwed the pooch on the orientation of them... should be ok for now....

In that closet, you will obviously be putting more than just aquariums on the shelves. So, I would strongly suggest that there be no tanks at the end of the shelves next to the electrical panel...and most especially none on the top level as shown in that pic. Use the last couple of feet of all three shelves for storage of dry goods, supplies, maybe put the air pumps on the top shelf...literally anything other than water right next to and above an electrical panel.

Also, bear in mind that it is possible to overdo something pleasant, eventually turning it into drudgery and work. Try to stay on the correct side of that line. Good luck!

good tip - water / electricity = not so good...

work in progress... think if room were bigger.... i could utilize it how i’d hoped...

moved a 75g in there today - glad i did this vs the 125g i was going to move in - it’s almost too tall - the shelf is 30” high but will be hard to get fish in out -

it’s almost too tall too - may be hard to get larger fish in/out

moved other tanks away from panel -

Think it’s pretty much full -

4 - 40g breeders / 40g long / 20g / 10g

Still need a fan in there - obviously don’t shut the door -

got last 40g today- sadly cost same as the other 4 - ($50 petco)

supporting local lfs and all that....
