Fish Room in Garage

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cycled bio media and coarse sponge in the tidal 110 and cycled sponge filter in the other corner

Used an old shop light I had sitting around instead of buying an aquarium light. Oscar has the whole tank to himself for grow out.IMG_20240208_141239194_HDR.jpg

Looks like the fish room’s coming along. Are you planning to breed and supply your local fish stores?
In my other thread, I just received 6 juvenile cuban cichlids today in attempt to get a breeding pair. I'll worry about selling to lfs after the breeding happens. But I'm more interested in watching and studying the behavior.
In my nic/Costa Rican/Honduran tank, my female Nicaraguan and male cribroheros Longimanus have been hanging in a corner together for past 2 weeks and dug out a spot. Not sure if they will do anything but if they do, I will not sell hybrids to a lfs or anyone for that matter.
But the Cubans are first breeding project then I will do natural blue acara, (not the electric blue variant) and then we'll see what happens after. I'd love to do a mesoheros festae breeding project.IMG_20240307_171120152_HDR.jpg

I’m working on raising up a group of festae right now to breed! Really the most rewarding and emotive cichlid I have ever had personally. Highly recommend. They have me thinking about trying my hand at umbees lol!!! Those Cubans are gorgeous, you should get a pretty pair no issues
