fish room

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a little change of plans but i am setting up my fish room still this week, plus ordering more africans this friday and hoping soon to get my other fish a friend owes me to.. ill let you all know what i am ordering by tonight.

I saw one buy's apartment that had about 20 tanks. Many were 150 gallons down to 55 gallons. They were placed all the way around the perimiter of the living and dining room. His wife wouldn't allow any in the bedroom. What is the floor made of in your apartment?

Yea, are you on a first or 2nd floor? the tanks are going to be all maintained individually? You're asking for troubles surely. And if you're upstairs you better hope that floor can hold all them tanks. Sure 20 gallons is only 168lbs then add in decor, gravel and stands its more like 200lbs for a 20gallon setup. X (____) that's going to be well over 2000lbs of water around that room. Maybe more if you're running more than 10 as a low number of 20 gallon tanks. Be careful so you're fishroom doesn't end up in someones living room.

bottom with a basement below me, and yeah ill run then along the wall with the beams, my 55 i think sits on 2 or 3 beams and doing pretty good.

I use 6" concrete blocks and 2 by wood on all of the stands in my fishroom - relatively inexpensive, flexible and return-able to Home Depot when we move (just don't cut the wood and keep the tags on it).

Not sure about a fishroom NOT in the basement...
