Fish safe turtle?

actually your right and wrong. they are more of the aquatic type but they are still basking turtles though are known as infrequent basking turtles. (rarely basking)
and the reason your turtle never comes out of the water is because your tank is filled to the top. if they are given a basking spot or area to climb out of the water
they will do so even if it isn't frequently. i see my turtle climb out and jump back in like its at a water park and it's quite amusing to watch as it seems like it's having
fun imo.

I mean I have a dock where he can come out of the wster, but he don't use it. At least I've never witnessed him using it. I have witnessed him getting on the dock just to dive back in the water. I always think that is his way of playing. You right it does look like they are having fun.

***60 gallon with 1 Flowerhorn and 1 Musk Turtle, 4 Angelfish temporarily with my mom***

A pic of my Mata Mata.

That's one cool looking turtle!

I have a common musk turtle (I believe he is) in a 20 long and he's real mean. He bites at your finger anytime you get near the glass. I may try to put a feeder goldfish in and see if he messes with it. I've never fed him live before.

I remember seeing soft shelled turtles in dedicated fish tanks over time. Does anyone have any info on these? I recall they looked like a marine turtle.

nice mata mata!

get a razorback musk turtle they are fish friendly or they can live in a 30-40g for life alone.

I had a spiney Gulf soft shell turtle with my large aggressive fish and had no problems at all it was a male so it did not get that big,I didn't have a basking area and had no problems with shell rot. He was about nine inches around and cost me $35 dollars.I had to get rid of him when I got my ray because he would clime all over it and I did not want to chance that he would nip my ray being that they stay stationery for long periods of time. But with fast swimming fish not a problem.really liked it,but the ray more

I have semi aquatic Peninsula Cooter that is a terrible predator. I think it's strategy is to wait for fish to swim into its mouth. Needless to say prior to adding a Pipa pipa frog to its tank it lived with hundreds of guppies.
