Fish scared of cleaner wrasse....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cool, thanks. I admit I was surprise the first time I saw the wrasse go into the sand, swam down at a rapid rate of knots and vanished with a puff of sand. I didn't see it again until morning.

At the moment it doesn't seem so persistent in chasing the other fish, I haven't had much time to watch the tank due to work so will have a good look tomorrow and the weekend

The cleaner eats frozen baby brine shrimp and also chases the slightly larger particles of the liquid food I put in for the filter feeders. I haven't tried anything else as yet (will probably need to wait until it's bigger - an inch long cleaner has a VERY tiny mouth!)

One thing I have noticed with marine fish - they grow a LOT slower than cichlids!

There is nothing to worry about the fish are just geting anoyed with it and as they have most likely never experienced a cleaner wrasse before it will take a little bit of time for them to realise it is beneficial to them.
I have seen it a heap of times in the tanks at work when new fish are put in.
