I have mostly dealt with UPS as far as fish shipping,I think I might have gone FED EX maybe once or twice but I hear an awful lot of complaints about them lately.

Agreed. Jeff Rapps ships his fish through FedEx and proper shipping preparation and packaging are key to getting fish to survive the shipping process. Lately I have heard a few complaints wrongly aimed at Jeff (and a few other vendors) because FedEx screwed up the shipping one way or another. I personally ordered some turquoise sevs from Jeff and they were suppose to be sent overnight with next morning delivery before 10:30am. And to get it from NJ all the way down here to FL, I paid $100. Well they screwed up and sent it overnight, but it didn't arrive until 4:45pm. I was upset because one of the five I ordered died soon after I got him into the tank (they were only 1" each, but I believe he would have survived if I had gotten them when I paid for them to arrive). I called FedEx and argued with them for a week before they refunded me the difference between overnight AM and standard overnight (a $40 difference is pretty big when you live on a budget). I will be ordering 8 geo red heads from Jeff before too long and hopefully FedEx doesn't botch that order too.

Still....many postal companies don't really care. They will get business one way or another. How else are people going to send their letters and packages? Not likely that people will start hand delivering their own goods from half a country away.
