Fish size for 22G tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with that stock list your going to need a Monster tank. With out the pacu, your looking at 200+ gallon

Hey OP. I'm guessing in India fish keeping is a bit of a challenge? I am guessing that it isn't every day you could find someone with a tank big enough to keep the fish you listed. Anyway, as you can tell you do have some changes that should be made. I am relatively new to the hobby, but I know how easy it is to make mistakes especially when around here every fish store sells oscars, pacus, and common plecos and I'm guessing 90% of the people who buy them don't have the tank size to accommodate them.

Anyway, you have some challenges. If I were you, I would try to "give" these fish away, forget selling them. Start over. If you keep the 22G, can you get dwarf cichlids? Like a pair of bolivian rams or a trio of apistogramma? Or get a much larger tank and keep the GT and give away the rest.

Just some thoughts.

hey guys, thanks a lot for the enlightening, I really appreciate that... I'll get the new housing done asap... before that I shall make a move on posting a pic of the current scenario of my 22G tank.. Such a nice guidance from fish lover like you people is all I require.... thanks again!! :)

Friends he is located in India and the houses we live are very small and having a hundreds of gallon tank is a challenge for us.... He is a very good friend of mine and He has another big water tank where he leaves fishes to rest around every alternative days....

So you have

6" Green Terror
8" Pacu
5" Blood Parrot
5" Red Devil
5" Oscar

in a 22 gallon tank?

You gotta be kidding me... not even a single of those fish can live in a 22 gal tank...:shakehead I'm surprised the Red Devil hasn't skinned the rest alive... they're probably begging him to do so lol

Can they even swim around or they just sit on the bottom waiting for you to feed em... let me guess... feeder goldfish from petsmart?

The title clearly stated you were proud of this! lol
If you have had all of these for a Year in this tank they'r probably stunted for sure! These poor fish would rather be dead then alive!

There is a member who adopts fish all over india, i forgot his name but he;s got a pond in the making for his arowana, do some good ship all these fish away and go back to your mollies! You don't deserve any of these fish.

hmmm.... I gotta do some thinking about that.... I thought they have grown to such an extent in that tank was something different.... I realize that they need some good space, thanks to the other guys for enlightening me on that... they seem to be comfortable in the tank... wait till I put up a pic of em and let me check the replies on how comfortable they look... :( hey and let me know the guy's contact.... I shall give it a try..

Here is the latest pic of my GT... I had removed all the Rocks and stuff to get them some space..

They move around, play do all sort of stuffs as usual.. I removed the Oscar and put him in a separate tank that he was showing signs of white spots.

They do not fight with each other!!!!!! :naughty:
