buy spot on i guess you mean 0 for ammonia and nitrite. then for nitrate you mean under 40ppm. people have different ideas of good parameters. but those i listed are what i consider idealAussieMonster;3350664; said:My nitrate, nitrite, armonia are spot on i have 2 fx5 on a 260g and 1 fx5 on a 180g i neglected to mention my house is a 1bed room flat with bathroom, kitchen and tv all being in the same room. in a house this small its just a little over whelming if you can understand. could you elaborate on the activated carbon? or any other suggestions?

But if we can determine why your tanks smell bad in the first place, maybe it can be fixed without masking symptoms. Do you feed a lot of meaty foods? Any bacterial blooms lately or decomposing matter in your filters?
