Fish store employees... My god

Kk for starters i found a lil 10 gallon in my back yard so i added a 20 gallon filter to it and its ben setup for like 5 weeks now so i decided why not go get some neons or something

i go into the store and see dwarf puffers for like 2.00 so i decided to get 5.. well when the emplye comes up to me and tells me that even thought my tanks ben setup for 5 weeks when i add a fish they will die because its not cycled... im like laughing my ass off at this point and hes getting mad because im not paying him any attention.. so im like just gimmie the fish, he ended up dumping the puffers back in and giving me neons and said come back in a week and ill let u buy them...

at this point im pissed and tell him to bite me and i walk out...

have any of u ever delt with stupid people like this?>
 
what did you do to start the cycle on your tank? He might be right.
Running the filter with just water for 5 weeks will do nothing.
 
You should have told him that :ROFL:

I know what you're talking about. People tell me that I cant do certain things all the time. I've never been denied a purchase though.
 
But it goes both ways, this guy was trying to do right, he did not try to sell you a pacu that could live forever in your 10 gallon tank.


You sure he was not saying the neons would not be good tankmates with the puffers?
The puffers will be nippy.

Very true, he was actually looking out for the fish, you've got to respect that.
 
What's the difference between killing neons and killing puffers?

The worker is an idiot...He was trying...But he's an idiot.

Is he the only one working there?

Did he try to explain cycling to you too?

Tell him it's not just about throwing some fish in a tank for weeks on end.

Better yet... Get some of the MonsterFishKeeper business cards and give him one and get permission to post some on the tanks.

Theres nothing in the tank now.. i had the 3 goldfish in there just untill it cycled then i toulk them out and fed them to my fish... so i wanted to go get some neons at the store and saw the puffers and was like i want those instead... i dident wana mix the fish

LMAO dr.joe... omg that was funny i dont even have decals :( im sadddddd

dwarfpuffers dont get that large and even if they did outgrow my 10gallon i have like 20 tanks :)
 
how long ago did you take the goldfish out?
