fish superstitions?

If I have to chase a fish around for 15 min I'm trying to net to move. Sometimes I throw it on the carpet first for a minute before I put into the tank. Its not superstitious it just makes me feel better.

not sure if a superstition but from time to time i will hold one the cats over the tanks to remind them whats awaiting if the they choose to jump out.

I was living with my grandmother when I first got into fish keeping and I remember her going off and yelling when she saw me me putting my hands in my tanks.She thought that I would catch some kind of infection and she probably still believes that could happen.
