Damn You lol, true I hear ya man, if it comes down to this or nothing then I will go for it but I think I can find a better place for it, if it was with my 150 it would probably work out a lot better.

Custom thickness glass or acrylic would workbut what you have now would require you to be SUPER cautious

This is intersting in that I kind of woundered abou the idea of drawing up a room layout where there would be a giant fish tank in somewhat of a U shape around a king sized bed where when you lay down in the bed you would have open space on your left like a regular bed to get in and lay down on it. But on your right side you would be up next to a wall but instead of being next to a regular wall and head board you would be next to a giant sized aylic tank that would be in a U shape with you lying down in the middle of the U and having a fish tank on 2/3 of you. The fish tank though would have very big such as eight feet tall and go above the ceiling line. The idea of it going above the ceiling line would be to prevent water and smelly fish tank smelly vapers from getting into you bedroom. Also the tank would act like a regular wall made out of water and fish.

I would not though try to build this tank idea out of glass in that glass breaks to easly if you where to bump into it but I think four to five inches of aylric would do nicely for this super fish tank bed room idea. I could try to make a drawing off it.

Thanks for the input guys, So cool idea but not good idea lol

its a good idea i have done this but not as a head board more as a footboard room devider i had a king and it was great not to much trouble since it was in the middle of the room a few feet under my tv wich was on a ceiling mount but i did have access from both sides of the tank and it was more or less backed into my bed with a double sidded view 180 gal all glass tank the stand is the key you want it to be atleast 6 or 7 inches higher then the bed to avoid any accidents of bummping it oh and make sure your filtration is as quit as possible lol

I have banged my head on my headboard sooooo many times, I know that if I did that it would end in disaster

The best way to do a fish tank as a headboard would be to have the tank built into a wall, with all access and maintenance done from the room on the other side of the tank. If you set the tank up correctly, and have it recessed away from the bed (and your heads) several inches, then the likelyhood of hitting it hard enough to damage it is not very high. The likelyhood of braining yourself is high though.

I seriously thought about doing this when I renovated our second bedroom, but the money was not there for it.
