I recently bought a used wooden tank stand and I'm not sure if it can hold all the weight of a 55 gallon, it has a sticker on it saying it's meant for a 75 gallon tall and has precautions about how a fish tank that size can weigh 1000+ pounds but when I look at what's acually supporting the tank it's just 4 main wood pieces in each corner with a board over top on the 2 end sides kinda like ur average table? I was wondering if I should install some middle support or not?

If your curious about tank weight check out customaquariums website. Honestly its fine for mine however i have 120 gallon (1080 lbs water only) I made my own stand and used concrete blocks and wood (duh). Again its up to you, did you buy the stand from a aquarium section then fine but if its just some stand you found not such a good idea again if you have a few blocks laying around way not. Btw your tank weight with sand/gravel will be around 790 lbs. Try googling your stand and how much weight it can take.

Post a photo of this stand.

So I was thinking about maybe just doubling the wood in each corner and adding a support to stretch across the middle width wise but is that nessesary?
