Hey guys, I'm picking up a 200g glass aquarium, I was wondering how many people it would take to lift it. The ideal would be myself, a 5ft 7 fourteen year old, the store owner, (an average sized male), and my mom who is 5ft 4 and decently stronger than your average women. That is just the ideal, the owner of the store can get another grown man in to help.

Yeahh...That's probably not gonna be ideal . 4 average people could lift it and move it, especially if you have straps and things to give a good grip on it But you're going to be struggling. If you're moving it into a house, around obstacles etc you're going to have a very hard time.
Ok, we will only have to walk about 10 feet. The room it's going in is directly off the garage, and we will have to go over just one step that is around 5 inches high. And there are literally no obstacles.
I agree with 4 people, it took 4 strong guys to comfortably move my 180 a bit of a distance.
All you need is for someone to lose grip, and cause a slight twist, and get a stress crack.

It took 2 big guys to carry my 180. And they struggled a bit. I got it out of a truck and on to a couple dollies myself and onto my deck. I could in no way lift it onto the stand. I'm pretty strong, I struggled a lot.
Yes I had 2 neighbor's help me move my 180 gallon off one stand to another. I agree get 4 strong individual's to assist you. Don't underestimate the weight of a all glass 180 gallon.
Even a 180g tank which isn't exactly massive really weighs on a bit. Four strong guys with strong grip should be adequate, one on each corner.
And please, for god's sake, don't put your poor old mum on one of the corners.
In fact, i'd send mum into the kitchen to sort the cups of tea and biscuits out. You don't want her hanging about the scene, i've no doubt the air will be blue with some very choice words once you start manuovering the tank about.

Something to factor in is doorways as well. Great that you have a person per corner, but can they fit through a doorway shoulder to shoulder while still holding the tank? If you are not doing stairs, spend the $20 and get straps. If you did have stairs though suction cups are the way to go for sure.
