Thanks mate!! Will definitely have to look at doing that, there is a large hardware store down the road so i'll look there. The fleas have definately dropped in numbers with regular vaccuming and surface spraying so the bombs may not be needed yet.
Pesticides and aquariums are a bad idea. Make sure everything is covered with a tarp or blankets well. Best way to treat for the fleas is to get the advantage flea shot from a vet and then just vacuum the house multiple times a day for 3 weeks.
This is the safest way. If you use the advantage flea stuf on the dog and the cat, then vacuum the carpets it will work. Hell just using the advantage on the cat and dog will turn them into walking exterminators.
But if you must bomb, Turn off all filters and air pumps. Cover the tank with garbage bags and tape shut, cover with a thick blanket and you will be alright, dont' worry about the media, just make sure its covered too. your filters won't be turned off for that long. Do make sure that you clean very thouroughly around your air pumps and any shelves that may be above the tank before you remove the covers.
