Here's a shot of my reef tank from my bed. I just set it up yesterday. Props to CHOMPERS to holding onto it
for a year while I've been homeless. I put it right next to my computer so I can watch it while I surf.

The only problem you might have is if the room is carpeted. To much water in the carpet can and will grow mold. Otherwise there are no health risks.
