I had a large female Jag named big mama who was very territorial. One night I was performing a water change and I stuck my arm in the tank to move some of the decorations and all of a sudden I felt something that felt like a bee sting. I looked down and she was getting ready to strike again. It scared me at first but after I thought about it, it seemed pretty cool. Has any of you guys ever been bitten by your'e large cichlids?
I had a male jag, always bit my hand hand when I was doing maintenance.

lol one of my green severums will bite my fingers if i put them in the tank-so will my red oscar, and he is only a few inches long.

my old oscar would bite the hell out of me

My 3" green severum seems to be getting a little too comfortable with my hands in the tank. I have a feeling when it gets a bit older it won't have a problem showing me who's boss.
