I am posting this thread to know if there is any fish that is capable of killing or taking a big chunk out of these super hardy fishes? A guy on my last thread said that his Channa asiatica killed 3x larger pleco, it sounds impossible...:WHOA:

I had a 8" midevil that ate two small pleco. And read on here that another members red tail catfish ate a pretty big pleco

hey, whats a midevil dude? an 8 incher eating two small pleco is something i could belive and a red tail catfish swallowing a big pleco could also happen as they have pretty big mouths for their sizes...

red devil / midas cross aka 95% of red devils in the hobby

-Fish the can bully others, territorial types, can induce stress strong enough to make the pleco weak and vulnerable to disease that may lead to death.
-Fish that can take huge chunk out of the pleco, i.e. aba aba / huge puffers lol..
-Fish keeper, bad practice of husbandry, not enough food, bad water parameters. (Mostly this is the killer)

Plecos are tough armored fish but can only withstand so much. In the wild they can swim away if attacked in most cases. In an aquarium there is only some much room and if they can't escape they will eventually be killed by a determined advisary. Just like a tank on a battlefield can sustain several hits if it can get away it will eventually be destroyed.
