What are some of the fish that you see here a lot that just don't do anything for you? You know what i'm talking about... You see a thread with pictures of _______, and see a ton of replies saying:

"that is a beautiful _________."
"I love your ________."
"Amazing _________."

etc.



and your left sitting there thinking "what the hell is so great/special about that kind of fish?"







What are yours?
 
All of those nearly identical African Malawi, Tanganyikan etc. cichlids. I love the American cichlid group, but when it comes to 1,000 subspecies of the same fish with different shades of blue or yellow, and people are excited about the new blue and yellow one, I want to barf.

Only my opinion. But all the hype about Peacock bass hasn't hit me in a few years. ive kept a few for years just to see what the fuss was a bout. I paid more attension to my S/A tank....
 
another would be the silver arowana... honeslty ive seen if they have a very faint tint of any other color the silver on the fins everyones like OMG WHAT GREAT COLORS!!!!

For me, it's really just plecos... I don't know why, but to me they're just "plecos"...

I like the responses so far.

I like Peacock Bass, I think they're cool - but I definately think people hype them up too much. That whole C.R.E.A.M. thing... I don't get it. I know what it stands for, but I just don't get it. lol
 
I think pike cichlids are sweet lookin fish... esp the cobra pike...
