:grinno: hahhaha ok now that i got your attention..
i'm doing a hydroponic setup with the plant roots suspended in the water oxygenated by powerheads, I don't have any questions on the hydroponic part so mods please don't move this thread

the part i need help on is that i need a fish to be a source of ammonia to feed the plant.. but this tank won't be tended to more than once a week, it will be in the sun so there will be tons of algae

I was considering a bristlenose pleco as it could probably live off the algae as long as i threw in some veggies once a week and it would produce a good amount of poop. any suggestions?

bettas?

I would go with a few common plecos . That should give you enough of a Bio load to support the plant life.

Half the total bioload of my tanks is from my plecos. All they do is eat and produce waste, grow a little and produce even more waste.

+1. You almost couldnt kill a pleco if you WANTED to...

lmao then idk what im doing wrong i cant keep a pleco alive at all, but i can keep just about everything else alive

Ive had about 7 or so plecos over the past 10 years and ive never had one longer then a month. They always die right away
