Well convicts are hostile indeed but so are the JDs. You can put there Plecs, Ancistrus sp., almost any loaches that reach at least 5", small Bagrids, small Synos, Bichirs (the small ones). If you plan to upgrade soon you can put in there any fish (as long as it's not fully grown) that can fit in your next tank.
