This guy is basically a cat toy, but all rubber. His head is one of those bouncing balls, the rest of the body is... well... just plastic.

Not sure what kind of ... method they use to color these guys... but think it's fish safe? Would be pretty sweet to see some cichlids playing with him.

Can't you tell somebody's a little bored here LOL

I'd hate to see a dither when a large Midas is done playing with it! Yeah, big Cichlids (and other fish) do play with balls, rocks, and such.

I guess I don't know this... but then again, how do you know, with the ping pong balls and other things we put in our tanks?

Guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

yes most Tank plants and filters are constructed out food grade plastics..wish mean it is safe to eat off they don't leech poisons .... back in the 80 there was a company that made a certain type of wet dry filter, it turned out that the filter was not made out of a food grade plastic and caused all kinds of tank problems

ive only heard of one kind of fish play with toys, and thats the elephant nose. they like to plat around with rolled up balls of aluminum foil.

I never heard of that - that is interesting. I wonder how the metal affects their electrical use.

But yeah, Cichlids and other fish do that too.

If it is safe for your dog to chew on, it should be safe for your tank toxicity-wise. Dog owners would most certainly raise a fuss if a toy were toxic to their precious furballs.

Having said that, the glues may dissolve and/or the colors may just fade off once submerged.

If it turns you on, try it out!

ps. A friend had a picasso trigger fish that played with toys all the time. Mostly he chewed them up to the point of being unrecognizable, but play means different things to different people. :nilly:

pps. I use dogs in my reply, because no self-respecting cat would go near that thing.
