santoury if its a toy made for cats or dogs then id assume it is made of product that animals can bite and not die, thus, imho it is safe to put it inside ur tank.
good to know about the "food garde plastic".I have a tunnel system made up of small animal tunnels (the ferret and chinchilla sized ones) in one of my tanks.
