Why the hell would you suck on the siphon hose in the first place. just place the tube underwater let it fill tilt it up let it start to drain and put the tube back underwater or
fill the damn thing at the tap cap the outlet with your finger drop the outlet in the bucket put the tube in the tank and the siphon starts automaticly.or just use a python water change system -Anne

You need to train them into peeing directly into the filter, but not out over the side of the tank.
