Alright so we have a free 55, and my mom is comming to me to help her find fish she likes to stock it with (and that I like >.>) and all I gotta do is keep it clean and such, easy. She wants fish with "attitude" and probably good personality, I was thinking a Jack Dempsy maybe. Anyways any suggestions on fish to go with would be great.

a group of pea puffers :)

otherwise, one of the other fw puffers although it would have to be a singleton...

I've kept a Jack Dempsey Pair (male and female), senegal bichir and African Featherfin catfish in a 55G successfully before. the Male jack was 8", female 3" when added, 6" when I moved them. Senegal was 3" when added and 8" when moved, and African featherfin cat 3" when added and 6" when moved. I was lucky that the Jack's didn't care about the others. They are actually all still together in a 125G, so I cant say for sure it would work long term, but they were together for about a year.

In a 55? any mixing and matching of medium/large free roaming aggressive cichlids will be difficult.

Iv'e been reading through posts to fast lately. I meant a GT in a 55 alone. I didn't read that he was looking for something to go with a JD.

I'd do Africans. My 55 is awesome. My Africans chase me back and forth until I feed them and they will eat out of my hand. And feeding them a treat like a worm is hilarious. One of them will grab it and all the other fish will chase him/her.
