Fish with "Personality"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My ex 15'' ST, i spoke to the new owner this week too.:(

this fish was the one i have owned with the most personality bar none.
it would sometimes sit at the corner of the tank watching me watching the TV or even watching it watch me.
it got exited when i came in the room even after it had eaten food, it was not scared of me so much so that when i netted it the other week it did not even move when i did it and it just let me, the new owner was amazed.
i do miss this fish but it had to be done, it was calm and collected and did not mind other fish big or small, it eat like a pig but was always active and never tried to hide.
it did have a bad time early this year when its nose was put out after removing loads of fish to add more smaller datnoids but it came round eventually, i think it was jealous LOL.

I think all of my sa/ca cichlids with some agression have personalty.

My green terror gets all excited and swims back and forth in front of the tank when I enter the room.

My green terror gets all excited and swims back and forth and up and down in front of the tank when I enter the room.

My Red Devil takes sticks from my hand and she also chases my dog when he is on the bed.

My Oscar knows I am the one that feeds him and if me and my g/f are in front of the tanks he always comes to my side.

All my cihlids have their own personalty in my community tanks.

The Black Belt hates the Texas cichlid and chases him constantly. But the black belt will not chase anyone else except the texas. The convict in that tank is willing to pick a fight with anyone except the Green Terror. The Greent Terror rules that tank and no one ever challenges him for his spot. The two firemouths fight only with eachother.

id have to say my oscar, hes the only one of my fish that eats food from my hand and he likes to "play":naughty: "whos mouth is bigger":D

i would have to say my Leopard Ctenopoma. i have had them for at least a year now:D. they eat blood worms out of my hands, and when i come into the room they quickly greet me even after feeding time. they love their feeders aswell:D_090507_2002a.jpg

Have to go with the Oscars and Pacu. Always begging and wagging tails like a pack of puppies.

I have to go with the oscar too.I love all my fish but hes a pet.He watches me eat dinner and when I check the forums.Begs for food, sulks if I dont acnowlege him

i have to agree, i only recently resetup my 90g after loosing my previous group of fish and for the first time i bought some oscars, we have only had them for a couple of weeks but they are already begging for food, i know that these fish will only get more entertaining as time goes on. i think that my fovorite part is watching them learn how to hunt, they where obviously raised on pellets because i put a couple dozen feeder guppies in the tank and the oscars where confused. every once in a while an oscar would slowly approach a guppy and open his mouth but not strike and the guppy would just swim away. its been a couple of weeks and oops, theres no more guppies, ive seen them get 4 or 5 over the last 2 weeks and its obvious that they are learning. occasiuonally they will team up and chase a guppy out of its hiding place only for it to be ambushed by the other.
