So my lyonsi had bloat about 2 weeks ago. I treated him for a week and fed him brine shrimp and he ate so i thought he would be okay in the main tank. Next morning he is begging for food just like the rest of the fish but he will not eat the pellets I have. At first I thought oh no bloat again but, he still swims around actively and dosen't have white stringy poop. When I fed the tank brine shrimp, he gorged himself. He is obviously eating but he won't eat the pellets. He ate them before he had bloat. He is soo small(only like 2in). Any advice to get him to eat pellets again? Could he have another disease? This has been going on for a week or so.

Try mixing the pellets with the brine shrimp.

Once he gets hungry enough he'll start eating them.

Should i seperate and starve just him or just keep feeding the tank until he eventually takes to it? I will try mixing pellets and BS.

I would keep feeding the tank with him in it eventually the hunger and competition for food will get him eating. He'll eat!

Okay...

he comes right to the surface and jostles for food like everyone else(1 convict and 4 cenrarchus) but after swallowing a pellet he just spits it out. I do think he eats some off the bottom though. But still not much at all. Thanks for the advice guys.

My Gt gets like that, they give in eventually. I find that if i stay there and watch, he wont eat irt, but if i leave so he cant see me, after a few mins he'll eat it.

You can also try soaking the pellets in garlic extract. Or you can buy a food like nls thera a, which has garlic included.

ok im willing to try anything.

brine shrimp is like candy or prime rib to them he just being stubborn and wants more of the good stuff instead of the veggie/vitamin pallets lol have you tried market shrimp much more filling then brine i think and not bad between 4 and 6 bucks a lb.
