hmm...
i see al my fish all the time.
but mostly my doradids are always hiding.
my raphael only appears rarely.
my other cats think theyre hiding but they are in full view. :grinno:
my b.bagarius is always at the same spot.

I have a BGK and it was the same for me until i fooled it into thinking its in a dark cave!!!

i don't have a picture of her in the cave i will take one tonight then post but the fish is in there night and day!

when i made the switch to sand i decided to buy two banjo cats. i enjoyed for them for all of thirty seconds or so. i dig them up every once in a while to make sure there still ok. also have a spiny eel that i rarely see, often i will comb my fingers through every last piece of sand and cant find him, but about ten minutes later he will be just sitting at the bottom.

I don't have to complain which fish doesn't show up a lot even if it is part of their nature to do that. My Platydoras costatus used to do that. Given the levamisole hydrochloride treatment a few months ago and plenty of hiding places aside from dark substrate and background, it shows up a lot especially during feeding time.

As far as loaches are concerned, well, I said it several times before they clearly hate being kept in less than five in number hence they will never show up. A proper tank setup is another thing to consider. They like to slip in nooks and crannies so an insufficient number of hiding places wil displease them immensely hence you will not be able to truly observe how they interact with each other in their social hierarchy.

I see my knives all the time :-} But I haven't seen my loaches since I put them in a bigger tank with all sand months ago . . . wonder if the p. polleni ate them? He does have a huuuuge mouth.

I hardly saw the yo yo loaches I got for the first few days. Other than that, nothing I have hides much. I'm going to get a Raphael catfish though, and it might hide a lot.
