This festae is a sibling of the female above, yet it is only 2" or so and over 6 months old.

Awesome pics and fish! Do you have a FTS? Looks like a great setup...

I'm growing out a group of 4 carpintis as well they are very feisty and very entertaining. I haven't had much luck in the past, any tips? Yours look very healthy it appears that I have two males a female and a runt all around 2-3"

Haven't had luck with what? They're pretty easy to keep, though I can't take all the credit. JK47 grew them out to about 4".

I can get a full tank shot tonight, means I need to put on the 28mm lens as I can't get far enough away with my 105mm.

Nice collection and photos. I love the branches/roots the set up is very nice. I'm impressed with the change in Shamu from when he was a baby it's great you stuck with him he rewarded you by becomming a truly beautiful fish.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear I haven't had much luck keeping carpintis, I've had a group of juvie vontehillo that just perished one by one and I got a 7" male from rapps last year that would pick fights with tank mates and then get beat up, when he started the fight to begin with. Tank mates were pretty mellow
