nice pics i went down to tampa for a week 2 years ago and we caught some jack, snook, redfish, spanish mackrel, stingray, some small shark, and this big guy was the biggest thing i caught that week it was an awesome time

I go fishing in Tampa a few times a year too. I lived there for 5 years after Hurricane Katrina on Davis Island. You could literally walk 3 blocks from my house and SEE monster snook!

I believe it! There's all kind of spots like that at various locals in fl.I've walked through a giant school of Tarpon and seen tons of snook at a single spot! Paradise

We even saw some pushing 3ft, but we never could get any of the ones in harbor to bite from land. However, I bagged my 1st 2 snook in a UNTOUCHED lagoon near Wheaton Island. Amazing experience! Have you ever been NIGHT fishing? We used to hit up all the submersed lights behind huge houses in the bay. You can see the snook and bait balls!

Somebody told me they came into the harbor to spawn, which would have been great to see!

I'm not sure,but snook do seem to congregate in large schools.It could be for shelter
