trout are real tricky to keep. you must chill the water, they like it in the high 60's low 50's. most the streams around here are about 54-56 degrees with trout. plus they need really oxygen rich water with lots of current. just thought i would spread my opinion here.

Yeah, your right. I worked in a trout hatchery for awhile and I would love to keep some but I really cannot afford the time and money to undertake a project like that at the moment.

Cayuga Lake really looks clear. Does anyone ever do any SCUBA in that lake?

It is pretty clear, probably due to the massive population of non-native zebra muscles. People do SCUBA there, there is actually a place on the lake where you can learn how to SCUBA. I would love to do it but until I have the time and money snorkling will do fine.
