Hello Everyone,

Ok, I hate my friends thinking i know everything with fish UNTIL i read a ramdom post on cichlid-forum.com, Dont quote me for this but im 99% sure it was saying that you could feed your fish, fish bait that u fish with for food,

"Stay away from freshwater fish and try to use ocean fish. The chances for salt water parasites contaminating a freshwater host is less then from a freshwater parasite."

"I like to use Whiting as it is cheap and usually comes with the skin on. The skin is nutritious and should be left on the fish. A few small bones in the fish should also be left as they supply calcium and other minerals."

Very Interesting i would love some opinions..

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

ThankYou

I should have made this a poll,

1.Use Bait to feed your Fish
2.Dont use Bait to feed your Fish
3.No F****** Idea LOL!

Ur telling me Everyone knows whether or not to feed there fish fish bait?
option 3 is to tell me who doesnt know.
thanks for ur pointless post though
cheers

The word BAIT is very very broad. Here is a short list of things I normally use for fishing baits.

red Worms/ night crawlers
wax worms
meal worms
Fat head minnows
gold shiners
beef heart
raw chicken
hamburger mixed baits
raw shrimp
canned dog food
live sunfish
pelletized packaged baits
crickets
fillet of just about any fish
cray fish live and peeled out tail meats
sunfish guts
sunfish eggs
Dove breast when in season
etc

So yes it is very possible to use many many fish baits for aquarium fish food.

Infact I do not think i use anything for food that could not be used for bait.

My point is the argument would be two sided whether the fish bait can be used or not. If you do not like the fact I mentioned how adding the third option may make the poll pointless, that's fine with me.;)

I would allmost bet that you can name any fish food and I can find a recipe to make a bait with it.

I know for sure that farm raised cat fish love shrimp pellet dough bait.

1lb hamburger
12oz can wardely shrimp pellets

mix throughly together let set over night in fridge to allow pelletsto soften and re mix before using.
If needed add flour or wheat cereal to dry out a little so it will hold on hook longer.
