Fishing for Armatus

So my Armatus has gotten a lot of size, and now I am trying to get it on tilapia. The first time I jigged the tilapia around he ate 2 chunks with no problem. Now ever since that day he just spit it out.:screwy: he hasnt been for 3-4days now(just nibbles but no eat). Is there anything I am doing wrong? I kinda feel like giving up already LOL.

I wana get it off live so I can remove the divider and it be with other fish.
 
I would say if your feeding him feeder goldfish try to see if hell eat dead feeder goldfish, then eventually dead frozen silversides etc

First off the tank is too small for that Armatus. The cichlid you have on the same side of it took a dart at it so it may be stressing your armatus. Armatus don't like small tanks plain and simple and putting it in even a more confined space with that cichlid and expect to change it's diet won't work for you. You need to give it more room as it will relax more and you will have a better chance at getting it on the tilapia. You also need to cut the tilapia to a smaller more slender piece so he doesn't have to work on swallowing it.
 
if he's eaten it before he'll eat it again... and if he's mouthing it, he knows its food, just needs to be hungry enough to eat it... hard parts over, now its just patience on your part to wait till he eats it and not cave in

He ate a couple died goldies if I put them down the slip way from the filter but if I just put them with no current he ignores them....I tried a silverside last night but it floated so that was a fail...

I keep the temp at a regular 86-87, and if its a hot day it goes atleast 90, the current of flow is from the ac110 which seems ok for now.

Ok I understand, The cichlid was more of a dither but I guess it not working out.... For the tank its not permant, The gameplan was that the armatus and maybe jardini will have that tank untill its too small then I up grade
again. then those cichlids will be sold or in a 29g..

Yeah I noticed that with the feeders lol, they are half his size lol.

yeah I need more patience with it lol, I threw a massivore pellet and it went after it but no eat it, just a nibble lol.

Maybe if you werent so much of a troll then people would respect you more......

plus the tank is 60g divided...... even if its still not efficient enough hold it its just a growout...

Just ignore him... The air is thin where he lives... If your Armatus ate tilapia once, it will eat again.
