are u gonna keep trying? how did it go

Didn't catch much, I know there is bowfin where i was at cause Ive seen dead ones floating, but all i could get was some blue gil. Probably wont be trying again anytime soon cause Ive just been too busy.

maybe you should try a trap and check on it every other day

Yeah i was looking online and there is a couple i could buy, I think its illegal to use traps to catch small bowfin. But who would know?:naughty:

We all know now. On another note, I would try areas where you saw live bowfin and not dead ones. I have seen them in tributaries leading into the lakes around here, but never caught one.

Everytime we catch them it's late spring/summer. Never see them much in the fall, but they must hafta fatten up somewhat for winter.

haha i catch them all in winter ice fishing Best way to get them.

i am in MI and i go to the flood warters its a big man made lake lots of pike, blue gil ,bowfin/dogfish, all cinds of fish and there easy to catch/snag. haha
