I truely envy you right now lol. I wish I could take a trip like that. I've always wanted to go to the Amazon.

I went to Costa Rica a few years back and caught a lot of Dovii and maculicauda (black belt) in the Parismina River. We collected fresh water shrimp and used it as bait. A truly amazing country with very hospitable people.

Right on thanks Gani. I'm not going to focus on fishing by a longshot, but I plan to make a few casts a day while I'm there.
Bring me back a couple of small WC Dovii's and I'll reward you handsomely with a case of your favorite brew! :) Oh... you're all healthy now and don't drink anyway so we'll call it even.
Good one Honger. Maybe I'll find a nice little hotspot and a few of us can head down for a week and do some surfing and collecting. I am a big fan of Becks NA and St. Paulie Girl NA by the way. I am still human you know....

If you get a chance, just walk around Hotel Los Lagos and you will see some of the biggest Dovii you may ever see. They have one of the best and most affordable zipline tours there as well, and a miniature zoo. Plus, if you go on the zipline you get free access to the rest of the Hotel including their hotspring pools and water slides. I spent a little over a month in Costa a few years back and this was by far my favorite place in the whole country.

you could talk with someone in your hotel for the tour its cheap 100 bucks but with some fishermans in the area, this are some in the lake Amatitlania siquia, Amphilophus citrinellus, Archocentrus multispinosus, Astyanax aeneus, Atherinella hubbsi, Brycon guatemalensis, Hypsophrys nematopus, Parachromis dovii, Parachromis loisellei, Poecilia gilli, Tomocichla tuba, Xenophallus umbratilis.

i would go with you but not in the country until late october
