K so hear are the rules to fishing..
If its private owned then you dont need a licence (i.e some docks/piers and gated lakes. some are private and only residence and their friend can fish there)
If its at a beach or open(public) lake you do (government owned and they like money)
I suggest getting a licence. its just safer and gives you all around pass
Friday newspaper ushually have a fishing section in the back telling you whats the hot catches and where..
i prefer live/scented baits for smaller ponds/lakes and ushually chumming on a boat is pretty fun.
