Fishing in the Amazon

A day trip on the amazon.

I caught three piranhas, one piraosca (a 16 inch catfish), one Cetopsis candiru, one other species of catfish (It was the largest fish of the trip, it weighed three pounds and was 21 inches long), pacu and Matrinchá.

I brought my spinning rods but despite numerous hits nothing would stay on the hook!

The largest catfish that I caught hit the bait twice the first time I missed the bite but the second, BAM the cane pole bent crazily and I was so afraid it would snap. It looked like a big U I finally got it up though. Man it has been a long time since i have felt a decent tug.

I would love to go fishing in the Amazon!

Think you that was very encouraging. I am still after some peacocks, saturday I was fishing in the rio negro but there was way too many boats. no bites.
