Here is a crazy idea... I thought of it while trying to entice my newly aquired bay snooks to eat dry food... Lets say you are dealing with with a fish that has strong preferences for live foods. Everything you tried in regards to dry/frozen is ignored. The fish only wants food that moves and tries to flee as its being gulped up... Now lets say you take a piece of market shrimp and a lenght of a fishing line. Let say you manage to attach that shrimp to the line so that it will give easily if jerked (I was thinking of putting fishing line through a large sawing needle, skewring shrimp through so that it ends on the line. Now the line gets cut and the end melted slightly so that the "bait" won't slide off as it hits the water). This contraption is dropped in the watter and moved around by hand in a fassion a feeder would move. The predator thinks its alive and WHAM! He bites, pulls, and shrimpslides of the line. The fish goes happy and you end up entertained :D

Anyone ever thought of trying this or am I insane? What would be some of the risks associated with the proposed feeding technique?

yep will work i do that for all my stubborn fish

Thats how I got my chinese perch onto prepared foods. It sounds crazy but does seem to work.

Easier a good lfs will sell "feeding sticks" that are made from clear plastic. Simply put the food on the end and add some action to it. It just gets stuck on the end like a skewer. Worked for me and I think like $2.00 a peice.

But what happens if somehow fishing line gets injested? Or to in case with a feeding stick, fish gets poked with it?

Just tie the food loosley and it will be ok. Dont let go of the line! lol...

I bet it would work for your CK. I had no problems getting mine on prepared foods though.

will work i promise just takes patience
