anyone try to fish for any Flatheads yet? White River near me holds state record cats in every category and has great shore access. With all of the smaller rivers I fish too swollen, I am a bit limited right now.

havent heard of any flatheads being caught yet, except up at the warm water discharge from one of the power plants but that requires a boat.
Fish landed-I-1/Dennis-2
Well well well, today was a long and boring day
!
First time at "Farrington" this year and the fish werent active at all. The first action when seen is when my shipmate Dennis does something I have never seen done before and that is snag a LMB when you cant see it. Anyway Dennis threw his #5 Mepps in about four feet of water and brings in a very nice 3.5 . After that I made one whole trip around the middle section and all we got was a bluegil that D got on his jerk bait. So now I just cant take it no more and ready to pack up and hit "Peddie". I say to D if we dont get a bite before we reach the bridge where we launched at " WE OUT". Well dam I if im not a man of my words cause right by the bridge I banged a decent 15"er on the jig, so then we fished the whole back part without a single bite. I did learn a lot of underwater laydowns/brush piles today tho, cause at certain parts(15-20ft) the fish where there but they wouldnt react.
No excuses but 52 degree water, cloudy,900-1300 trout just stocked last week makes for some tough conditions but I still managed one !!

Looks like a good time. Still too cold out here for bass. The area we fish for bass has just thawed out and the water is still a bit muddy. Its that funky time of year where the fishing is going to either be on fire or crap! Pretty rare, but ive gotten skunked our last 3 days out this week
