Landed my biggest of the year today at this spot in Raleigh, NC !!

She weighed in at 5.9lbs !!! I'll post the pic once I get home tomorrow !

I got my first decent bass of the year out of a small pond the other day. Besides these guys I've got 19 others totaling about 3 pounds all together. My presentations appeal to skinny ass fish.

Fish landed-4

5-11 was a hour and half trip at "colonial lake" after work where I was able to land two on the buzzy !!!

5-14 was a 30 minute stop on Carolina pines Rd in Raleigh, NC. So I walk up and start throwing the buzzy around. At one point every time I cast out I can see a major wake come up behind the buzzy but it would not hit it, so after seeing that like five times I had enough. I ran across the street and grabbed another pole and tied on "The Dinger". Threw it in the direction where the fish was coming from and nothing, so I picked the buzzy back up and started fan casting and sure big girl had came back but stilll wouldnt hit the buzzy. The difference this time was I had the "Dinger" right there ready. First cast TICK TICK,3-4 second pause, MAJOR hook set, and OMG thats a F'ing MONSTER. After she jumped a few times(heart dropping) I dragged her onto land !!!!

5-16(today) I stopped at the college of NJ after work for one walk around. Started out with dinger and the bass would pick it up and just move it away from their fry. I mean I would let them walk with it and once I try to set the hook, thats all I would come back with. Meaning that they just had the back of the dinger in there mouth and when I tried to set the hook it would just rip right out the worm. That happened four times so I put the buzzy on. On a decent parallel a 13 incher jumped right on it but as it got close it jumped in a brush pile, so you know I gave the fish a little extra pull back and my "abu garcia verties" snaped amost directly in half(WTF). I did land the fish but im pissed, that was my favorite rod :irked:.

Stopped at bass pro shop yeasteday on the way home !!

First five pounder of the year !!!!! :headbang2

Nice! Stay at it. What have you been using to catch your bass?

Texas rigged worms, Jitterbugs and a couple crankbaits that work mid-level. Each seem to work on different days. I'm still blown away by cichlid fiends fish. Dude racks them up. I noticed he got one on the buzz bait, that thing gives me fits. I know they work but I have never caught anything on either a buzz or a spinner. Must be something about my presentation. I'm looking forward to figuring those out.

Went out last Sunday for some American Shad fishing at Freeport, Sacramento. Super fun experience and caught around 15. These Shads were are great fighters, unlike lake trouts and bass. Caught all fishes on small little jigs. Super fun, plan on going again next week if the bite doesn't die off. :)

Sorry for the crappy picture... I should of got a picture of the fish. (This one was just a baby, we caught some that were 20" plus.)
