FISHING SEASON 2K11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tried to noodle them out! Didn't work but it was fun to chase them. I don't catfish this lake because the bottom is covered in weeds 2 ft tall and a super steep slope with the bottom being well below the thermocline. These cats were under downed trees in the next cove over from mine. No bank fishing access and only a kayak to there there. Not sure how to even approach those fish. Maybe a jug. Not much cover in my cove but the bottom is above the thermocline so may start setting a line there at night and hope for the best. My cove is the best bluegill fishing in the whole lake so maybe it attracts some fish in. How would you approach it?

Read an articile about in a fishing magazine from a famous dutch carpfishermen about top fishing spots with clear waters with lots of weeds.
The fishermen first went for a dive to target the fish and their natural hiding and feedingplaces.
Then he cleared an area where he wanted to fish by pulling all the weed out,He also added some big rocks so the weeds aren't likely to return fast.
He fed the fish for several days with the bait he wanted to fish with,so the fish get used to the bait and the new spot.
Then he started fishing with stunning results.

I realize it takes a lot of work, but what may workout for carp can also workout for catfish.

kinda lame to feed the fish then catch em like that, :| - personally i would try jugging for them. if you leave enough out in the next cove id think they would be bound to come out of hiding for the temptation

Seating in the truck cause the rain put us out of commission. It's ok I landed 9...

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Will throw out a couple live gills when I am there next weekend in my cove. Prolly be a few weeks before I get stuff together to set up some jug lines near the laydowns I saw them under.

On another note, skunked again at the river. Very frustrating season for me. Going to be looking for new water soon.

The past few days have all been good fishing, with some nice bass at about 3 lbs, and some smaller channel cats. We also hooked up with 2 very nice cats both weighing in at 4.5 and 5 lbs. I've been trying to get pics up, but the laptop won't accept my camera card. I'll make sure to get pics up when I get home on friday.

NEVER. let a freakin woman lay closer to the alarm clock when you're supposed to be going on a fishing trip. alarm goes off at 3:45, she cuts it off, 3:50, she cuts it off, backup alarm at 4:30 goes off, she cuts it off, I woke up at #%#!%@%@ 5:30 when I was supposed to leave at 4 and be at the beach fishing by 6, now she's too #%#@%@# busy making sandwhiches for breakfast to hurry the hell up.... I am about to rage.... now instead of fishing 3 hours of incoming tide and then another 3 hours of outgoing I'm gonna get an hour of stagnant tide and 3 of outgoing, I still have to be back at the same time... and honestly my spot will probably be taken at this time of morning... I honestly don't even wanna go right now i'm so PO-ed
